Donor-Advised Funds

What is a Donor-Advised Fund?

A Donor-Advised Fund (DAF) is a simple, flexible, and tax-efficient way to support the causes you care about most. It works like a charitable investment account, managed by a public charity, also known as the sponsoring organization, that allows you to direct your giving over time.

You’re eligible for an immediate tax deduction when contributing to your DAF. From there, you can recommend grants to the charitable organizations that matter most to you, such as the ASCE Foundation. You can contribute as often as you like and recommend grants at your convenience.

How Donor-Advised Funds Work

1. Contribute Make an irrevocable donation to your donor-advised fund and receive an immediate tax deduction.

2. Grow Your contribution can be invested by your sponsoring organization for potential tax-free growth, allowing you to give even more over time.

3. Recommend When you’re ready, you can recommend grants to IRS-qualified public charities, such as the ASCE Foundation.
