Your gifts support students as the future of civil engineering. Through ASCE student programs, current and future generations of civil engineering students are getting connected with their peers and mentors from across the globe while expanding their personal and professional skills. Where the energy of young people is met with opportunity and guidance, the next generation of civil engineers will become well equipped to meet the engineering challenges of the future.
With generous gifts from ASCE members, the Foundation supports the Architectural Engineering Institute (AEI) International Student Design Competition, ASCE Concrete Canoe Competition+, CI Student Days, and ASCE Student Conferences around the world!
Supporting the Education Fund
Gifts from ASCE members enable the ASCE Foundation to support a full suite of ASCE educational programs. These programs support civil engineers working to inspire current and future civil engineers.
Make a donation to the Education Fund today, and help us engineer tomorrow!
Student Activities Reimbursement Award (StAR)
The StAR Award will provide the opportunity for students to attend official ASCE meetings and conferences across the country. Through their engagement in these leadership and educational activities, the next generation of civil engineers will be able to better understand the field, learn new skills, engage with future peers and employers, and share their ideas and perspectives.
Invest in civil engineering students by donating to the StAR Award today!
ASCE Concrete Canoe Competition+
For over 30 years, students’ efforts to combine engineering excellence and hydrodynamic design to construct water-worthy canoes have culminated in an advanced form of concrete construction and racing technique known as the “America’s Cup of Civil Engineering".
Workshop for Student Chapter Leaders
The Workshop for Student Chapter Leaders (WSCL) is a training session for new student officers in ASCE Student Chapters. The WSCL is sponsored by the Committee on Student Members (CSM)—the national committee that oversees all ASCE Student Organization activities.
ASCE Student Conferences
Nineteen ASCE Student Conferences are held every spring by ASCE Student Chapters. Each Student Conference includes a business meeting, professional and technical presentations, and student competitions, including: surveying, technical paper presentations, Blue Sky, Concrete Canoe and more.
AEI International Student Design Competition
Created in 2010, the Architectural Engineering Institute (AEI) International Student Design Competition highlights the collaboration of multi-disciplinary architectural engineering student teams, showcases the knowledge and application of design and construction principles to a real-world project scenario, and prepares students for the realities of their chosen industry. Congratulations to the 2021 AEI International Student Design Competition winners!
CI Student Days
The Construction Institute (CI) of the American Society of Civil Engineers developed the CI Student Days conference to bring top engineering students from across the country together with potential employers who are seeking new talent.
The annual CI Student Days events give students the information and tools they need to stand out in a competitive job market, while providing engineering recruiters with unique opportunities to get up close and personal with a stellar pool of candidates.
