The Foundation supports critical ASCE programs for Student members. These hands-on, real-world learning experiences help ASCE Student Members gain knowledge outside of the classroom, develop leadership skills, engage in networking opportunities and prepare for a successful Civil Engineering career.
With generous gifts from ASCE members, the ASCE Foundation supports the Architectural Engineering Institute (AEI) International Student Design Competition, National Concrete Canoe Competition, CI Student Days and ASCE Student Conferences around the world!
Supporting the Education Fund
Your generous gifts to the ASCE Foundation's Education Fund support National Concrete Canoe, the Workshop for Student Chapter Leaders (WSCL) and ASCE Student Conferences. In 2018, nearly 9,000 Student Members participated in ASCE Student Activities.

National Concrete Canoe Competition
For over 30 years, students’ efforts to combine engineering excellence and hydrodynamic design to construct water-worthy canoes have culminated in an advanced form of concrete construction and racing technique known as the “America’s Cup of Civil Engineering".
Donations to the Education Fund support the National Concrete Canoe Competition.
Workshop for Student Chapter Leaders
The Workshop for Student Chapter Leaders (WSCL) is a training session for new student officers in ASCE Student Chapters. The WSCL is sponsored by the Committee on Student Members (CSM)—the national committee that oversees all ASCE Student Organization activities.
Donations to the Education Fund support the WSCL.
ASCE Student Conferences
Nineteen ASCE Student Conferences are held every spring by ASCE Student Chapters. Each Student Conference includes a business meeting, professional and technical presentations, and student competitions, including: surveying, technical paper presentations, Blue Sky, Concrete Canoe and other competitions.
Donations to the Education Fund support ASCE Student Conferences.
AEI International Student Design Competition
The AEI International Student Design Competition was established in 2010 as an annual event, specifically for the architectural engineering programs to showcase the value of collaboration, competition, and peer review, all of which are important in the development of designs in the professional world. Congratulations to the 2019 AEI International Student Design Competition winners!
CI Student Days
CI Student Days events give students the information and tools they need to stand out in a competitive job market while providing engineering recruiters with unique opportunities to get up close and personal with a stellar pool of candidates. Your gift will help support the highly successful CI Student Days program.
